A Benediction

Any regular readers of this blog will find it obvious that we have not posted any quite some time. There are a myriad of reasons for this, not least of which is that, well, we're moving on.
We opened this blog for Christopher. We left him at home when we travelled to China and wanted a way to keep him up to date on our trip. So, posting daily to the blog was a great way to let him know what we were doing. We had a great "final post" planned when we got home, but then we were convinced by our travel mates that we should keep the blog active for their sake. We've done so (off & on) for these two+ years. Our efforts, though, have been met with a complaint from Christopher; this blog is all about Ava. Of course, that's not entirely accurate. Nonetheless, it hits the mark close enough that we've had to consider how fair we were being.

That is probably our biggest reason for ending our work here. The other being primarily that keeping it up to date is time consuming in a way that no longer interests us, and we need a new computer that makes composing and posting less of an ordeal.

Rather than some elaborate closing statement, or witty sign off ("thanks for all the fish", "so it goes", etc.) we'll suffer Christopher one final indignity & let Ava offer this benediction, which sums up our feelings most well:

Hole New Experiences

It seems the gum ball tree up above our house wants to make our house into swiss cheese:

The Grass is Always Greener on This Side

I don't know who was more excited that Christopher was old enough to start doing Saturday lawn work?  I think Baba E has it made now.

Tippytoes

Feeling guilty that I don't post more often, I finally started going through our summer photos and came across these picture taken in succession. I finally have photo evidence that Ava in fact can get up on the tips of her toes and walk around! I don't see how that is physically possible.
